An EAZA-certified member, the Parc Animalier d’Auvergne works every day to preserve the planet’s most endangered species, around three founding pillars.
Pilier 01
Conservation
Through the Play for Nature fund, we support more than 20 organisations worldwide for in-situ conservation. At the Park, we host species within European breeding programmes for future reintroductions — this is ex-situ conservation.
Pilier 02
Education
Educating and raising awareness, especially among the youngest, is at the heart of our mission. Interactive signs and games line the trail, turning the visit into an open-air classroom where everyone becomes an ambassador for biodiversity.
Pilier 03
Research
350 animals, 60 species, 80% in European programmes. We collect scientific data every day to better understand and better protect the species entrusted to us.
The Parc Animalier d’Auvergne.
Nestled in the heart of volcanic Auvergne, the Parc Animalier d’Auvergne is home to 350 animals from 60 rare and endangered species on an exceptional natural site. An EAZA-certified member, the Park takes part in the leading European conservation programmes and aims to host 100% endangered species by 2028.
Far more than a zoo, it is a living mission-driven company - a place where conservation, education and research come together every day, driven by passionate teams committed to life.
Play for Nature
The Play for Nature endowment fund supports more than 30 biodiversity conservation programmes around the world. Led by the Parc Animalier d’Auvergne, it brings together companies, visitors and volunteers in the service of life.

The Group recruits across eleven teams: animal care (keepers), animal welfare, technical, education, communication, sales, administration, Play For Nature, ARB (reception, catering, shop), Strategy & AI, and the Manoir des Rêves Sauvages. Contracts range from permanent to internships, including fixed-term and work-study.
Do I need a diploma to become an animal keeper at the park?+
For the animal care team, field experience matters more than diplomas. The key requirements are professional experience working with animals, a driving licence and a vehicle (the site is not served by public transport), and strong hygiene discipline.
Does the park use artificial intelligence to recruit?+
Yes, a decision-support tool analyses the written content of applications and produces an indicative score. No decision is automated: a human recruiter always reviews and decides, in accordance with Article 22 of the GDPR. The introduction video is analysed only through its written transcript, never the image or the voice.
Where is Parc Animalier d’Auvergne located?+
The park is in Ardes-sur-Couze, in the Puy-de-Dôme department (63), in the heart of Auvergne. As the site is not served by public transport, a personal vehicle is generally required.
What happens to my application data?+
